C-section scar therapy

If you have recently had a c-section your scar may be feeling tight and uncomfortable. It is very common for a scar to feel as though it is pulling. Deep adhesions that form as a result of surgery may cause discomfort to be felt elsewhere such as; your lower back, pelvis and even your upper body. In addition to this, you may find that your scar is raised, red and sore, this may result in you disliking the appearance of your scar and restrict you from getting back to doing the things you enjoy.

As your body heals from a c-section scar tissue will form. Scar tissue is fibrotic and less mobile which can lead to the formation of adhesions, which cause layers underneath the skin to stick together. RESTORE scar therapy involves specialist techniques, which are a non-invasive method of physical therapy, used to treat scar tissue fibrosis and adhesions.

What our clients say….

“Katie was extremely approachable, knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. The appointment felt personal and she took the time to explain exercises and how to do them properly. Post c section care is quite limited in terms of pelvic floor exercises and looking after your scar long term and can easily be forgotten with a little one. After leaving the appointment I feel empowered to do some self care and complete the care plan she has suggested.”
